Great tutu making weekend.

I have just farewelled, Jillian, Belinda, Yvonne and Debbie after two fun filled days of tutu making. Here are some photos of what was achieved in that time, Jillian's is totally finished, the others have some further decorating to do.

Belinda has made these beautiful appliques from silver fabric which she will "bling up' to go on the bodice and peplums.

Jillian made this gorgeous circus inspired tutu and a matching headpiece.

Debbie will add lots of sequins and jewels in mauve to the bodice to tie in the mauve in the skirt.

Yvonne will add a motif to the bodice, possibly cut from the lace on the overskirt.

I was very impressed with the energy, enthusiasm and creativity of all of them!!!

  1. WOW!!! Just spent the week-end doing a tutu workshop with Dani. A truly amazing experience and one that I cannot recommend high enough for anyone interested in costume making. Dani’s passion, knowledge, patience and generosity are boundless…….even for a very amateur sewer like me. Over the week-end I completed a tutu (just need to finish beading on bodice) and a matching head piece. The tutu fits Eloise (our 10 year old daughter) like a glove and best of all……she loves it! Dani, I cannot thank-you enough for teaching us so much. It was such a beautiful environment to learn in and I loved the enthusiasm of yourself and the other creative women in the course, Yvonne, Gillian and Belinda. Thank-you all for a fabulous week-end ……..and thanks to Rodney for the much needed coffee runs!
