Great tutu making weekend.

I have just farewelled, Jillian, Belinda, Yvonne and Debbie after two fun filled days of tutu making. Here are some photos of what was achieved in that time, Jillian's is totally finished, the others have some further decorating to do.

Belinda has made these beautiful appliques from silver fabric which she will "bling up' to go on the bodice and peplums.

Jillian made this gorgeous circus inspired tutu and a matching headpiece.

Debbie will add lots of sequins and jewels in mauve to the bodice to tie in the mauve in the skirt.

Yvonne will add a motif to the bodice, possibly cut from the lace on the overskirt.

I was very impressed with the energy, enthusiasm and creativity of all of them!!!

Woodland Fairy tutu for YAGP

My friend Ruth in America just sent me this photo of a tutu she made from my stretch pattern, with quite a lot of her own tutu magic thrown in. I thought it was so pretty I had to share.

If you want to see more of her work, look at her website www.costumesbyruth.com
Thanks so much Ruth for letting me post it here.

Another really successful tutu class

I had a great weekend with Jo from Wollongong, Therese from Ballarat and Dee from Sydney...... a really last minute addition as she only found the class on Friday afternoon!
They all did a wonderful job of making tutus and headdresses and hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.

Therese went home with pink sequin braid to add to the overskirt and lots of ideas for how to decorate the bodice....she has promised to send photos of the finished costume on her daughter.

Jo made a really spectacular headdress to go with her stunning tutu.

Dee did some more work on this before she left but I forget to get a photo.

Excited about tutu classes

I have Jo and Therese coming tomorrow to learn how to make tutus and headpieces, then four more ladies in two weeks time. I really enjoy meeting new people and sharing ideas and information, photos to come soon of what we make this weekend.
I have been working on a really pretty tutu for Grace from Sale, can't wait to see all the bits put together.

Addicted to ebay?

I just received some really pretty acrylic jewels in the mail today, some from Australia and some from Hong Kong. I was really pleased with the quality so immediately went back to both sites and ordered lots more! I keep thinking I would be much richer if I didn't have ebay, BUT I can get so many things there for a fraction of the cost they are in shops here, and I do love sparkly things!!!
